Following on from exclusive catering at the hugely successful 2011 Irish Men’s and Ladies Golf Open’s John Coughlan Catering (www.jccatering.ie) are proud to be the appointed catering company for the 2011 Solheim Cup (www.solheimcup.com) to be held at Killeen Castle in County Meath September 23rd - 25th.

"We are very proud to have won this prestigious contract because it proves the value of our previous Irish Golf Tournament Catering successes," said John Coughlan, Irish Master Chef and Managing Director or John Coughlan Catering. "In this case, our expertise, experience and quality of the food and service we had demonstrated previously helped us, but more importantly the customer comments and accolades we received from our past European Golf Tour and Killen Castle operations made all the difference. We are delighted and very proud to be involved with what is the largest golf event to be held in Ireland since the Ryder Cup."

For the Solheim Cup, John Coughlan Catering will be offering exquisite catering from several well positioned marquees and catering outlets located in prime and convenient positions on the course.

Barbara Muldoon, John Coughlan Catering’s Operations Director, offers more insight into the huge scale catering operation “The Solheim cup is our opportunity to promote what is so good about Irish Cuisine and to demonstrate to the thousands of overseas guests that Ireland is really at the top of the culinary tree”. “From our past experiences we have designed top quality menus that have proved to be very popular in the past and added to them by insisting on the freshest, locally produced, organic wherever possible, ingredients”.

Gourmet, home made delicious pastries and sandwiches, all baked on the premises, accompanied by fine “bean to cup coffees” made by trained baristas, will be available in the Sit’n’Sip cafe, open from 7am each morning from Tuesday 20th September offering a relaxing atmosphere with a fast efficient service.

For a perfect meal, try the unique Tapas Restaurant, ideally located in front of the imposing Killeen Castle itself and hugely popular during the Ladies Irish Open. Serving a wonderful array of “food to share” and adding an Irish twist to this Spanish favourite by including some excellent Irish Salmon and speciality dishes and cheeses to accompany the traditional tapas fayre. For a group of 4 or 6 our recommendation is to try the unique “Tapas Tower” a sumptious blend of all the best tapas items served with accompanying home baked breads and fresh garden salads. A perfect location with fine quality food and an ideal setting to relax with your friends. Open from Wednesday 21st September from 11am daily.

Additionally the Good Food Village will also offer all types of dishes from Fine Irish Gourmet Burgers to Wood fired Pizzas and Irish Organic Ice Cream. Gourmet “bean to cup” coffees and a wide selection of other delicious foods to suit all tastes will be available here. Open from 19th September onwards.

Quite simply, whatever your taste may be we are sure to have mouth watering dishes for everyone.

We look forward to welcoming you all to the 2011 Solheim Cup. céad míle fáilte
